Summer Vacate
Okay, summer vacation, but isn’t it true that we vacate where we are and head off to some wonderful destination?
I recently vacated Dallas for Washington D.C. for the first time. It was indeed a wonderful destination and I enjoyed it very much. Seeing the history and birth of our nation was inspiring and even overwhelming at times. Sometimes glancing back can give us a new perspective focusing forward. Even Paul exhorts the Corinthians to “examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves…” (2 Cor. 13:5). It’s important as Christians to reflect and ponder our spiritual growth or lack thereof.
For FCA, summer is a great time for our staff to reflect on the past year. It was a tough year in many ways but it is amazing to look back and see God’s faithfulness. He provided resources and met us at our point of need, just like He promises. His ministry continued despite shortfalls through the evidence of changed lives. These attributes encourage us to focus forward into the new school year with confidence! Will you take a moment to reflect, to thank God for who He is and let Him direct your paths going forward, building His plans through you?
You will hear more about what is happening through FCA in the coming months. Until then mark your calendars!
